My primary expression, however, is abstract painting, often intertwined with architectural elements. When I think about my work, I always see a painting on canvas, whether it is oil or acrylic. I love exploring the possibilities of abstraction through forms, structures, and space, while subtly incorporating architectural elements — my personal signature.
I am Mirjana Mira Milovanović, an academic painter with a degree from the Academy of Arts, completed in 2004. In my artistic work, I do not recognize boundaries — I am inspired by different techniques and approaches. Whether I am drawing, creating stylized portraits, or painting, each technique has its own place in my creative process.
My work includes medium and large-format paintings, though I always adapt to the needs of my clients. When working on commission, I strive to align with the client’s wishes so the artwork fits perfectly into the space where it will be displayed.
One technique especially dear to me is acrylic on canvas. For me, acrylic is a durable medium that maintains its color intensity over time, with fast-drying pigments that allow the process to flow naturally with my ideas. This quality lets me play with layers, textures, and compositions without fear that the colors will lose their integrity.
Within my work, you will always find traces of exploration, creativity, and passion for art. I enjoy combining two worlds: the abstract expression and the concrete structure — creating unique compositions that speak of art as something universal, yet personal and deeply individual.
